Abstract
  • A local congregation can progress in its development of being and becoming the church as indicated by its ministry within the political structures of its surrounding community. Based on Luther's understanding of 'the two Kingdoms', the project report discusses a person's responsibility as a steward of God's creation and the Christian's involvement in the church and the state. A distinction is made between the management of the church as an institution and the management of ministry. The project shows how the needs of a community may become a part of the agenda for the ministry of a local congregation and how this involvement can lead congregation members into thinking about community affairs.
