- Abstract
- This document is the record of an exciting new ministry that is taking shape at Redeemer United Methodist Church, DeWitt, Michigan. The development of a team of lay persons to do pastoral care ministry is in process here. It is theologically sound, practical, and can be adapted in any size congregation. This report traces its development from concept to implementation. It provides basic principles, procedures and structure that can be used to give pastoral care in meta-church (small group) style to an entire congregation, involve lay persons in meaningful ministry, and prevent clergy burnout. Results of the model are also included.
