Abstract
  • This project develops useful resources for worship renewal in the United Church of Canada, tracing development of worship in Scripture and history and examining worship practices of founding denominations as they pertain to present practices. A sampling of modern worship, contemporary models, and comments about worship illustrate the worship style of the United Church of Canada. The project describes the experience of St James United Church in Waterdown, Ontario, as the congregation sought to renew worship by introducing a contemporary and additional service. The rationale for such a service, the methodology, and the results are discussed.
