Abstract
  • In 2007 Alamo United Methodist Church celebrated 100 years of ministry in San Antonio. This should be a time of great hope as it can assess its place in the Kingdom of God and plan for its role in the future. Currently the functional ministries of the church are in question as to their effectiveness both within the local body and in their impact on the local community. This practicum/project is centered on the church as a manifestation of the Kingdom of God. As part of the Kingdom, the ecclesia can be evaluated and effectively measured as to its functional ministries. In this project, the following steps were taken. The methodology employed provided ways of measuring the church biblically, theologically, practically, and in terms of its spiritual vitality. The chief finding was the need to break out of old patterns and practices of ministry. This project gave Alamo United Methodist Church an objective way of seeing itself in it present state and of finding new ways in working towards the future.
