Abstract

The purpose of this project was to enhance the project director's skill in the development and delivery of the invitation at First Baptist Church, Saint Francisville, Louisiana. Following the Ministry Skill Enhancement Model, the project director researched the biblical basis of the invitation, identified elements of biblically-based invitations, and analyzed various models of the invitation in order to identify invitational models that support elements of biblically-based invitations. The project director developed and preached a series of sermons that incorporated biblical models of the invitation. Additionally, the project director utilized an expert evaluator and a sixteen-member evaluation group to evaluate the developmentd and delivery of the sermons and their invitations. The project director utilized the feedback to analyze the enhancement of his skill in the development and delivery of sermons that contain biblically-based invitations.
