Abstract
  • A survey showed that only 100 churches of a denomination held an annual world missions conference. The remaining 400 churches were small churches. Therefore the research and study was designed to measure the effectiveness of the use of a conference in a small church for prayer and financial support and personal commitment for mission involvement. A conference was proposed to the Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church; it was accepted. A committee was formed to plan, promote and conduct a conference with a speaker and missionary guests. Results showed commitment to prayer and one hundred-fifty dollars pledged per family for missions.
