Abstract
  • Since the beginning of the church growth movement in the 1970s, Protestant church attendance has declined. At the same time the number of megachurches has greatly increased, fed largely by smaller churches. This project studies church growth literature, and books and articles written for small churches, conferences papers, and interviews with consultants to define a role for small suburban churches in a megachurch environment. A small church can target those persons who still prefer small churches. The project develops and tests a strategy of outreach that can be readily employed in a small church.
