- This ministry project examines the survival and growth dynamic of an inner city church in Montgomery, Alabama. Chapter 1 sets the parameters of the project and defines urban ministry. Along with the church's history and demography, key factors that have contributed to the church's long-term growth and vitality are examined. Chapter 2 contains the biblical and theological foundation for church growth. The biblical analysis is meshed with the theological implications for urban ministry. Chapter 3 focuses on the inherent obstacles that challenge an inner city congregation. Special attention is given to confronting and overcoming a wide variety of common church growth impediments.
