Abstract
  • The historical phenomenon of concubinage has been a great challenge to the church and those seeking to do ministry in Jamaica. This project focuses on the Braeton New Testament Church of God and its response to the many persons who continue to struggle with concubinage. The challenge of men and women who have left the church in the last five years and who are in concubinage was investigated using a qualitative interpretive study. The church is commanded to uphold the biblical principle of marriage while showing compassion, reaching out and materially helping and counseling those in concubinage.
