- A telecomputer was used to develop pastoral contacts with the constituency of a rapidly growing church where weekly personal contact was not possible. An examination of Paul's use of messengers and letters, along with a theology of initiative, proposes that pastoral contact is integral to ministry even when the contact established is imperfect. Pre- to post-implementation changes were measured in perceptions of pastoral contact, convenience of communication, church and pastoral ministries, and worship attendance. The project concludes that there is a viable use for the telecomputer in the life of a church and recommends further studies to be conducted.
