Abstract
  • A need exists to train ill-equipped Jamaican pentecostal preachers in the skill of interpreting biblical text. Working to incorporate conservative elements of recent hermeneutical trends, a manual has been developed that will guide ministers through a step-by-step interpretive process that can be applied to any genre of text. Chapters 5-8 is a manual. Basic tools are discussed and their use demonstrated. The model is presented and followed with its exegetical features applied to a sample text. Appendices focus primarily on exercises, worksheets that can be photocopied, hermeneutical guidelines, and assorted miscellaneous materials.
