Abstract
  • This study develops a strategy for integrating persons with mental retardation into the life of the church. It reviews relevant historical, biblical and other literature in the field as a background for the project. The study concludes that such persons need to have a valued place in the church. To determine some of the obstacles to integrating persons with mental retardation into the church, a series of personal interviews are conducted from which twelve major obstacles are identified. A strategy is developed to assist church leadership, parents and persons with mental retardation in integration.
