  • This project intends to answer the question: 'How can the church learn to extend biblical hospitality to each other, to guests, and to the strangers in our midst, including the least and the lost?' First United Methodist Church, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania is located in the mid section of the downtown area and has a membership primarily of people who 'drive into church.' This project provides a strong biblical and theological foundation for hospitality. The background includes both the Hebrew traditions of the Old Testament and the 'kingdom covenant' set forth by Jesus in the New Testament. It is the hope of this researcher that it will be possible for others to replicate some aspects of this project into their setting.
