Abstract
  • The purpose of this ministry research project was to develop a comprehensive Strategic Marketing and Communications Plan for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) in Atlanta, Georgia. The author identifies 'new realities' that are reshaping American's denominational landscape, outlines key biblical guidelines, and explores the concept of Christian stewardship and the Baptist doctrine of 'soul competency' as theological foundations for the practice of communications and marketing. A telephone survey of 500 CBF members formed the heart of the project's research phase. Findings from the survey were used to formulate a strategic plan that was successfully implemented over a three-year period.
