Abstract
  • The Protestant church in Japan has struggled to grow. Recent growth statistics offer little encouragement as to the promise of a revitalized church. Yet church history shows that God has visited his church with seasons of blessing. Are there historical models that can be reapplied to the church today? Can the answer to perplexing issues of church growth and spiritual vitality be found in Puritan spirituality? This thesis explores the historical hope of revival and key aspects of Puritan spirituality that can be foundational building blocks for a revived and reformed Japanese church.
