Abstract
  • Given the high number of clergy couples in the West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church, the author believes there are new models of ministry within this context. She gathered quantitative data on categories of churches and migrations of ordained elders. She also employed ethnographic observation and qualitiative research addressing morale and itinerancy through interviews with selected clergy couples. The results are presented in narrative form with the conclusion that, given demographics and cabinet creativity, there are new models for clergy couples to exercise their call in West Virginia.
