Abstract
  • This project-thesis traces the scriptural development of the concept of community, and develops a theology of community. The thesis tested was whether literature can be used more effectively than traditional Bible study to change attitudes of class participants. Three groups were tested: a class reading Will D Campbell's The Glad River, a Bible study group looking at biblical themes of community, and another class serving as a control group. An identical questionnaire was administered before and after the studies, and the responses were compared and evaluated. The findings were deemed to have supported the thesis.
