Abstract

This project proposes that the book of Proverbs provides a basic curriculum that fathers should seek to impart to their sons. The author hopes that this project will help churches equip fathers to teach their sons the principles of Proverbs at the beginning of their teen years. The project includes sociological data concerning fatherhood, a theological base of fatherhood, an extended exegetical outline of Proverbs 1-9, and a narration of a ten-week course that fathers and their sons could take together with other father/son units. Seven fathers and seven sons provided the basis for the research.
