  • The pastor must pray if he is to fulfill the call of God. The example of Jesus Christ is the pastor's primary source for a life of prayer. To support this thesis the author employs many scriptural passages from both the Old Testament and New Testament. This study is supplemented with research of books on prayer. The project gives illustrations from the life of Jesus and applies them to the different areas of the pastor's work. It then relates experiences from the author's work in his present congregation. The paper concludes that the calling of the pastor is the call to prayer.
