Abstract
  • This project uses story-telling and narrative based teaching methods in a Lenten study of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. It demonstrates the effectiveness of these methods in helping adults integrate belief with life experience. Such integration is demonstrated through the writings of participants which exhibit four criteria: sensibility, insight or awareness, conviction and congruence between meaning and feeling. A fifth criterion, release of energy or action, is not present or not determined by the evaluation methods of the study. The report includes the seven session curriculum and a discussion of ways participants integrate belief and life experience.
