Abstract
  • This project examines the role of pastors in lay leadership development in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Papua New Guinea (PNG). It analyzes the church situation in PNG, including biblical and theological dimensions and cultural factors, and synthesizes the implications of these concepts for ministry in PNG in relation to pastoral roles in lay leadership development. The project concludes that pastors need to change from primary doers of ministry, becoming shepherds and equippers of lay leaders.
