- Abstract
- The proposition of this qualitative project-dissertation is that a vital, healthy, biblically functioning local church must be fueled and driven by the implications of the gospel message. However, there is the possibility that, over time, an established church may become more influenced by other primary factors other than the gospel. Consequently, these churches will find themselves needing to rediscover the 'main thing' of the gospel as its primary, driving influence. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the visionary process of developing a distinctively gospel-driven ministry in the established local church, with a focus on my present call to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, Mississippi. The following research questions guided this study: 1. What role will leadership play in the development of a gospel-driven ministry. 2. What role will theology play in the development of a gospel-driven ministry. 3. What role will ministry alignment' play in the development of a gospel-driven ministry.
