Abstract
  • The context of the research project was Avon United Methodist Church in Avon, Indiana. The hypothesis was that through the Sunday school program, families could be better equipped to do faith development in the home. New curriculum choices, teacher training and parent resources were introduced to accomplish this goal. Pre- and post-testing of the parents in the church showed that the research project did provide the parents the resources needed to continue the Sunday school lessons at home. While a success, this project is just the first step in reaching out to parents in the church and in the community.
