Abstract
  • The project was designed to address a United Methodist congregation's inability to speak theologically about the connectedness of faith and money in a distinctly Wesleyan manner. The author offered six classes coupled with a daily reflection journal as a means to challenge persons to examine their giving and state the reason for giving, reflecting the theology of John Wesley. Classes were designed using Groome's 'shared Christian praxis.' The author concluded that, through reflection and discussion of John Wesley's theology, persons were able to speak in Wesleyan terms about the reason for their giving and how giving relates to faithful living.
