  • In Ephesians 6:10-18 Paul contends that spiritual struggle is necessary to successful Christian living. The author suggests that the popular understanding within certain evangelical quarters of present experiential sanctification as being a struggle-free activity necessitating little or no human effort is erroneous, and that Christians possessing such an understanding can be guided effectively to a more biblical perspective through a carefully designed and implemented course of instruction. Using members of a Baptist congregation in rural Arizona as his sample, the author tests his thesis experimentally and formally presents the purposes, biblical and theological issues, methodology, data analysis and conclusions.
