Abstract
  • The thesis was to design and assess the need for a Hispanic Institute of Lay Leadership in Central Florida. Employing a program-program evaluation methodology, the writer ascertained whether the initial design for such a program was viable and adequate in meeting the theological and spiritual yearnings of the growing population of Hispanic lay leaders within Presbyterian congregations. The result of the research indicated that an educational leadership development program for the Latino/a laity was urgently needed, practically feasible, and genuinely valuable, especially for mainline Protestant denominations engaged in Spanish-specific ministries throughout the country.
