Abstracto

The thesis is to propose to the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church change in its lexicon and understanding of clergy compensation from that of merit to one of spiritual reward not material reward. So that the system's ideal is for everyone to have a living wage and not a penny more and not be a version of the secular world's pay for performance system. The proactive research model was used. Surveys were taken with the goal of educating and persuading. A dialogue is in its initial stage.
