Abstract
  • Local churches should be involved in ministry that attempts to meet the needs of the community in which it is located. The theological basis for this type of ministry is the mission of the church, which is continuing the mission of Jesus, namely, presenting the kingdom of God. This involves evangelism, life style and social action. The community ministry of one local church was developed by studying: 1) the community that surrounded it to determine its needs, and 2) the church in order to see what resources existed for meeting some of those needs.
