- Abstract
- Based upon the premise that persons should be treated in a wholistic manner, involving their emotional and spiritual needs, as well as the physical symptoms of illness, this project involved a ministry of pastoral care in cooperation with a physician. Research included an examination of the wholistic concept, its biblical and theological bases, and its historical development. Models of wholism are included in the project along with learning experiences of the participating pastors and physician. Six cases, involving pastoral counseling, are presented which indicate that there was an improvement in personal health and a greater sense of well-being.
