- Abstract
- This Doctor of Ministry paper and project deals with training laypersons to share in the responsibility for the congregation's pastoral ministry. The assumption is that such a program will be effective only if adequate oversight and supervision of lay ministers is maintained by a competent supervisor who, in most cases, would be the ordained pastor. The ideas proposed spring from the conviction that one of the crucial tasks of the local congregation is 'the equipment of the saints for the work of the ministry'. More specifically, the paper and project deal with crisis ministry.
