Abstracto

The model-design provides the local church with a comprehensive directional plan for action in alcohol education. The plan for action includes a Bible study, an alcohol awareness sermon, a workshop, and a continuum of concern. The model was tested in four local churches. Interviews, surveys, questionnaires and evaluation forms were used to measure the effectiveness of the model. Increased awareness of alcohol problems, a desire to participate in alcohol education, and plans for a year-round program indicate the model can be productive.
