Abstract
  • This project proposes that better understanding of the conversion process and faith development would enhance evangelism and discipleship ministries among Vietnamese immigrants. By interviewing a sample of 33 Vietnamese Christians, the project discovered that Vietnamese immigrants are often not devoted to their former religions. Crises, conviction that Christ is God, anticipation that God can meet one's felt needs, and parents' approval are important factors influencing conversion. Bible study, prayer, worship, fellowship, small-group participation, God's visitation, and trials are important factors contributing to faith development.
