Abstract
  • The clinical ethics decision making model developed by Jonsen, Siegler and Winslade can be enhanced by an incorporation of a covenantal ethic and theology. The resulting process is more inclusive of the values and relationships entering into a medical decision where ethical choices are involved. This project discusses the model of Jonsen and colleagues and the principles on which it is based developed by Beauchamp and Childress and then uses the work of H Richard Niebuhr and James B Nelson to develop a covenantal theology and ethic that can be used in medical ethic decision making.
