Abstract
  • According to the qualitative study of one particular congregation, there is an apparent disconnect between the experience of Holy Communion and daily discipleship. This research project explores potential reasons for this discontinuity between worship and the world, as well as related issues of cultural context. A general review of current paradigm shifts will include an overview of missio dei. An eschatological emphasis will invite a return to New Testament ecclesial practice. Hope for personal and public renewal will be expressed through a missional understanding of this particular sacrament.
