Abstract
  • The study was undertaken to explore the possibility that isolation might be a factor in certain clients' search for wholeness at Presbyterian Counseling Center in Seattle, Washington, and to explore the role of community in their progress. Six clients from the agency were interviewed; the material from the interviews is presented as illustrative material for the discussion. The study affirms the impact of the current culture on the isolation of the clients in question, but also notes that they are in need of therapy to work through family of origin issues in order to participate in the community they need.
