  • Following an examination of the concepts of sacred sites, sacred space, and holy place, the author looks at the birth of three new sacred sites as a result of the events of 9/11 (the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, PA). The project reviews their birth in the light of history, tradition and Scripture as well as personal experience and discusses sacred sites at length. This review and analysis of sacred sites is followed by a guide for visiting sacred sites in the Washington, DC area.
