Abstract
  • The churches of the Monument Valley Parish explored ways to develop an administrative pattern known as an 'enlarged charge cooperative parish ministry' within their context. The focus was to add new and needed programs which would respond to church and community concerns in which each church would participate without losing its local identity. The churches were stimulated to anticipate their future in view of the long-term impact of the rural crisis. Study, research, and in-depth discussions resulted in the development of a cooperative parish covenant, guidelines for parish-wide planning and ministry, the election of a lay council, and implementation of agreed-upon projects.
