- Abstract
- This project presents a confirmation program designed by the Christian education committee of Sharon United Methodist Church in Plainfield, illinois. The project was completed through a series of steps which included an overview of denominational structures, studying the history and theology of confirmation, discussing the implications of faith development, examining the church's ecclesiastical model, delineating an ethos informed by a survey of area churches that practice confirmation, and showing confirmation's relationship to congregational life. This report concludes that a confirmation program can be created which is designed by laity, related to congregational and community life, and theologically sound.
