- The purpose of this project was to develop an assimilation strategy for First Ridgeland Baptist Church. To accomplish this goal, I collected information about the membership and involvement level of new church members including LifeGroup attendance, DGroup attendance, involvement in serving, and a general survey of their familiarity with each of these as well as the church's core doctrinal beliefs. I selected three churches that assimilate new members well and researched their processes. I also created an annotated bibliography of relevant resources to guide this project. From the research, I identified and organized best practices. I also developed a strategic planning team to assist in discerning weaknesses in the church’s current process and needed improvements based on the research from other churches. The strategic planning team identified areas for improvement and created an assimilation strategy. Finally, I developed a presentation of the strategy and presented it to our church’s executive leadership for approval.
