Abstract
  • The objective is to demonstrate and create through the preached word and consciousness raising activities a model for ministry and an environment whereby Mt. Olive Church will become a change agent within the community of Tunica County, Mississippi. The author accomplished the task of developing a model for ministry through qualitative insights using data in a grounded theory approach. This model served as a blueprint and affected change in the consciousness of members of Mt. Olive Church. Through this model the prophetic voice of the preacher through consciousness raising sermons and activities moved the membership from complacency to activisms.
