Abstract
  • Recognizing the significant need for the effective leadership in the context of the African church, the author has sought to clarify the pertinent issues by building a theoretical framework which identifues the components comprising the leadership formation process. These networks are explored in the typical western approaches to leadership training and in an ethnographic study of a specific tribal group in the central African context: the Azande. The convergence of these two cultural contexts raises some missiological concerns which then suggest the formation of some guidelines towards the development of a culturally sensitive approach to leadership formation in African oral societies.
