Abstract
  • The effectiveness of a congregation toward its guests' spiritual development is directly proportionate to the hospitality efforts it puts forth. Congregations established in faith and doctrine may examine and utilize the language, philosophy and training examples of several successful hospitality businesses to provide a welcoming environment and offer ministry opportunities to guests and first time visitors. The author researched three business and two churches to compare intentional hospitality processes, examined the congregation's statistical data, assembled several presentations, and educated the congregation of the results. The congregation examined its ethos and became more intentional in its welcoming ministry toward guests.
