Abstract
  • Bilingual churches are crucial to the well-being and evangelization of Russian-speaking immigrants in America. Data obtained from responses to questionnaires and personal interviews with members and leaders of Russian-speaking and other Slavic, as well as non-ethnic, American denominations, reveals their overwhelming support of bilingual churches. The study offers an in-depth analysis of all emigrations from the Soviet Union, their unique problems, their evolution, their demographic distribution, the history of Russian-speaking Baptists in America, the peculiarities of a bilingual ministry, the life-cycle of a bilingual congregation, and the benefits bilingual churches can bring to American congregations and world evangelization.
