Abstract
  • Prayer is the key to discerning God's will for the Church. Yet, American-born Presbyterians often act as if this were not true. When faced with a decision in the church, they turn to procedure and polity for direction rather than to God. The story told in this report is one of an American-born Presbyterian praying with the Apostle Paul about an invitation to leadership of the church development ministry team. The experience of prayer is examined as are the unexpected answers to prayer, as the author of this study sought to understand how God was shaping the church God was re-establishing and this author as an apostle.
