- This ministry research project examines and seeks to fulfil the relationship that a biblically based mentor church can have on other congregations in light of the desire to assist churches in healthy kingdom growth principles. Chapter 1 traces the history of Hunter Street Baptist Church, goals, rationale, and limitations of the project. Chapter 2 contains an overview of the biblical and theological aspects of 'church,' and uses the biblical image to springboard into a rationale for the purposes of the church, and the fulfillment of the Great Commission and Great Commandment of Jesus Christ. Chapter 3 looks at the mentor/mentoree relationship with the objective of healthy church growth training as an extension of the ministries of Hunter Street Baptist Church. An analysis of the biblical guidelines for the mentor relationship is included in this chapter. Chapters 4 and 5 examine specific ministry focus and goals in the actual mentor/mentoree relationship offered to partner churches from Hunter Street Baptist Church. Included are strategies to implement the development of healthy churches and growing congregations. The chapters are followed by extensive appendix material which demonstrates the nature of information gathered and acted upon in the mentor relationship.
