Abstract
  • The purpose of the study was to explore the prosperity gospel movement's structures, mechanisms and networks to determine implications for ministry of other churches. Examination of historic materials, television broadcasts, web sites, books written by prominent figures in the movement, and interviews revealed that networks and collaborations of clergy reinforce an intricate system of mutual cooperation. Creative mastery of technology and public relations propel the perceptioin of a user-friendly church, a critical factor for success. However, the 'health and wealth' message generally does not promote the holistic, life-changing message of the Gospel, as often do smaller and denominationally-connected congregations.
