Abstract
  • The goal of this project was to renew the conviction that there is an important link between preaching and pastoral counseling, and to demonstrate that there is a preaching method that is particularly effective in establishing that link, namely inductive preaching. Four sermons were preached in a worship setting, two deductive and two inductive. On the basis of an evaluating committee's responses, results clearly show the superiority of induction over deduction as a model for pastoral care, as an agent of transformation, and as an agent for truth apprehension.
