  • This dissertation project is an investigative study of black Baptist churches in the southwest central region of Florida that uses the Seminary Extension Curriculum Series of the Southern Baptist Convention. The purpose of this study is to discover if the curriculum can be effective in the black Baptist church as presently designed. The thesis of this paper is the importance of Christian education in the church, most specifically the black Baptist church. The method of doing this study is through personal interviews of directors, teachers, pastors and students who are affiliated with the center using the above listed curriculum. The study affirms that the curriculum is effective in the black Baptist church and does not need major changes.
