Abstract

A prophetic preaching model was presented to The United Methodist Church of Savannah to find out the extent of the people's recognition of what prophetic preaching is as it was explained and demonstrated in a special sermon series by their pastor. There was a pre-questionnaire message followed by the first questionnaire on the first Sunday. Then there were four Sundays with the four main messages, followed by a post-series message with the second questionnaire on the sixth Sunday. The participants showed a moderately strong recognition of what prophetic preaching is on both the questionnaires, with a slight increase in recognition over the course of the sermon series.
