Abstract
  • Is missional transformation possible for an old established mainline church? Answering that question requires first clarifying what is meant by transformation, a term often used loosely in the current discussion of organizational change. This study proposes a specific understanding of missional transformation and examines one small urban congregation's four-year journey to become a missional community. The Gospel and our Culture Network's eight 'patterns of missional faithfulness' are the benchmarks used to evaluate the change that has taken place at North Presbyterian Church. The research suggests that genuine transformational change is indeed possible as an on-going journey of conversion.
